BANCROFT-Two people have been charged with drug related offences after a search warrant was executed.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant at an address in Bancroft with assistance from members of the Bancroft Detachment, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Clandestine Laboratory Investigative Response Team (CLIRT) and Bancroft Fire Department.
The investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 11.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, approximately 45 suspected opioid pills, about $1200 in Canadian currency and items typically associated with drug trafficking. As a result, two individuals were arrested.
A 54 year-old-man from Bancroft was arrested and charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Trafficking Schedule I substance – opioid
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Operation while prohibited
The accused remains in custody.
A 38 year-old-man from Bancroft was arrested and charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
