KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officers have charged an individual with impaired driving after investigating a secondary collision.
On Friday September 18, 2026, at approximately 6:10pm, officers from the CKL OPP were dispatched to a minor two vehicle collision that had occurred on Highway 7 in Emily Township, while other officers were already on scene investigating a collision that had previously happened. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver and asked him to provide a sample of their breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was made with the results leading to an arrest.
The accused was transported to the CKL detachment for further testing.
A 25-year-old man from Fenelon Falls, ON., was arrested and charged with;
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on October 29, 2026.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.
