KAWARTHA LAKES-Bill Denby took the witnesses stand today in his own defence.
Denby is facing three charges of uttering death threats, criminal harassment and intimidating a justice participant stemming from incidents in 2023 and 2024. He plead not guilty and is representing himself.
Justice Lisa Wannamaker will be presiding over the trial and Crown Attorney Natasha Jerome will be presenting the case against Bill Denby. The case is being heard by 12 jurors.
In a brief opening statement Denby said he and his “group’ undertook a 14 year investigation into “corruption” by City hall, police and the court system.
“What you are about to hear will be like you’re in a movie. The only difference is it’s real.” said Denby. “What you are going to hear is the actual truth.”
While testifying in his own defence Denby said his actual name is Billy Lonewolf and he is 100% native. He said he believes he has been chosen to expose Canada as a Communist country.
Denby claims the charges against him were fabricated due to his his group attempting to expose alleged “corruption”. He testified that the police and city officials hatched a plan to kill him.
“Kill Bill or we all get exposed and we could to jail for what we have done.” mused Denby.
He also testified that police infiltrated his email account and sent threatening messages to council, making it look like he had sent the emails.
“Unexplained thing were happening in all our computers and our phones were tapped.” Denby testified. “They had got into my email and pulled it out of my email and did a cut and paste and sent it to themselves.”
The trial continues tomorrow.
