BANCROFT-Two people were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 62 in Bancroft on Sunday, August 16th.
Police say one driver, a 41-year-old resident of Mount Bridges, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver, a 46-year-old resident of Wollaston Lake, was transported to hospital by emergency medical services, where they were later pronounced deceased.
Members of OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Highway 62 was closed for several hours between Lower Turriff Road and Highway 620 in Limerick for investigation. The highway has since reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage, photographs or video from the area is asked to contact the Bancroft OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
