KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP is investigating an altercation that occurred following a motor vehicle collision in Bobcaygeon on Canada Day.
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, shortly before 12:00 p.m. officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of East Street South and Mill Street in Bobcaygeon. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
During the investigation, officers received information that, prior to police arrival, an individual not involved in the collision was involved in an altercation with one of the drivers at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old from Verulam Township, has been changed with:
• Assault
• Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
