KAWARTHA LAKES-Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP were kept busy during the early morning hours of July 11.
Officials say the night shift had 13 calls for service while also holding multiple RIDE checks, conducting numerous traffic stops as well a two impaired driving charges being laid.
On Saturday July 11, 2026 at approximately 01:24 am officers responded to reports of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 35 in Fenelon Township. Through investigation the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.
A 26 year old woman from Fenelon Falls, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
Later on, Saturday July 11, 2026 at approximately 01:52 am officers responding to a call for service and while enroute made observation in regards to a possible impaired driver operating a conveyance. This occurred on Manvers Drive in Manvers Township. Through investigation the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.
A 28 year old man from Nestleton, was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the conveyance were impounded for 7 days.
