Impaired Driving Charges Laid Following ATV Collision In Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP entered an impaired driving investigation following an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) collision on Mount Horeb Road, Manvers Township.

On Friday, April 03, 2026, at approximately 4:55 pm, officers responded to a single ATV collision around Mount Horeb Road and Old Mill Road. A 33-year-old, male, from Emily Township was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with life altering injuries. The driver was transported to local area hospital with non-life altering injuries. Police say neither the driver nor passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the collision.

Jeremy Windrem, 37-year-old of Peterborough was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol or drug

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
