Vehicle Reported Stolen In Niagara Region Recovered In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Two people were held in custody after a stolen vehicle was recovered in Lindsay on February 16.

At approximately 9:45 a.m., an officer on routine patrol investigated a vehicle parked at a motel on Highway 35 South in Lindsay. The vehicle was confirmed to have been reported stolen by the Niagara Regional Police Service three days earlier.

Further investigation determined that two females were in possession of the vehicle. Officers located both individuals in one of the motel rooms, where they were taken into custody and transported to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service. A search warrant was executed on the motel room, and the vehicle was examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

A 53-year-old female from Lakefield and a 31-year-old female from Lindsay were each charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Both were held in custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay for a bail hearing.
