Second Chance Thrift Store Announces Move to New Lindsay Location

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes announced today that, after 13 years, Second Chance Thrift Store is embarking on a new chapter. This February, the store will be relocating to a larger, more accessible space at 230 Kent Street West in Reeds Plaza.

Officials say the new location will offer a larger floor plan, additional parking, and greater visibility within Lindsay’s vibrant downtown shopping district. These improvements will allow Second Chance Thrift Store to continue growing its impact—all in support of the animals and programs at the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes.

In preparation for the move, the store will begin a soft close at its current location at

111 McLaughlin Rd Lindsay, in January, while updates are completed at the new space. Plans are to open in mid-February at the new location.
Community members and supporters are encouraged to assist by donating boxes, newspapers, and totes to support the packing process throughout the coming weeks. The store will also be hosting special sales and sharing updates as the transition progresses.
“We’re so grateful for the continued support and enthusiasm from our volunteers, donors, and shoppers,” says Emily Harris, Executive Director at the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes. “This move represents an exciting step forward, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone into the new space.”
