Brooklyn Resident Charged With Impaired Driving After Two Traffic Complaints From The Public

BANCROFT-A 28-year-old Brooklyn resident is facing impaired driving charges.

Police say on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Bancroft OPP officers received a complaint of an overdue vehicle that had also had a traffic complaint in the Peterborough area. According to police, a short time later officers located the vehicle and observed driving behaviour often displayed by impaired drivers, a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was arrested for impaired and was transported to the detachment for further testing. Police say the results of the test showed the driver to having almost 3 times the legal limit of alcohol in their body.

Rachel Hogg, a 28-year-old resident of Brooklyn, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on January 6, 2026.

Along with this arrest the Bancroft OPP has been working hard for this years Festive R.I.D.E program, including R.I.D.E checks in Bancroft, Carlow-Mayo, and Highlands East last night alone.
