Charges Laid After Loss Prevention Officer Allegedly Punched In The Face

PETERBOROUGH-A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing a robbery charge after an incident Saturday morning.

Officers were called to a business in the George Street North and Rink Street area at approximately 10:30am on March 22.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a male customer had been asked to leave the store after a loss prevention officer (LPO) spotted him concealing items.  Police say when the man left, he punched the LPO in the face and fled the area.  Officers located a man matching the description given to police several blocks away and took him into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery with Violence

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
