Charges Laid After Child Attends Hospital With “Suspicious” Injuries

NORTHUMBERLAND-The Northumberland OPP chargedĀ  a 30-year old man after a child attended a local hospital with suspicious injuries.

On March 7, 2025, OPP received information that a child had attended a local hospital as a result of non-life threatening injuries which had been sustained on separate occasions in the days leading up to the report. The victim had been transferred to a Toronto hospital for further care. The injuries were deemed suspicious and police began an investigation with assistance from the Northumberland Crime Unit.

As a result, a 30-year-old male, from the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand, has been charged with:

–Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Assault causing bodily harm – two counts.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date. They shall not be named to protect the identity of the victim.
