Freezing Rain Warning Issued For Parts Of Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning forĀ Fenelon Falls Balsam Lake Park and Northern Kawartha Lakes.

Freezing rain expected tonight and into Tuesday morning. Freezing rain is likely tonight as a low pressure system approaches the lower Great Lakes and may be heavy at times over a few areas overnight with a transition to rain Tuesday morning or late Tuesday morning.

Some ice accretion is possible on surfaces with about 1 to 3 millimetres of ice accretion. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
