Drug Charges Laid After Police Raid Short Term Rental Property

PETERBOROUGH-Two men are facing charges after the Peterborough Police Service Drug Unit along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) raided a short-term rental property on Stewart Street on May 24th.

Officers seized :

  • 128 grams – Cocaine
  • Almost $14,000 in Canadian currency
  • Drug paraphernalia

As a result,

A 30-year-old Mississauga man and a 31-year-old Markham man were arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine and Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada.

The Markham man was also charged in connection with an incident in April after a quantity of drugs was located in a different short-term rental residence.

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, officers responded to a call for service and through investigation located the following at the property:

  • 63.46 grams – Fentanyl
  • 412.5 grams – Cocaine
  • 104.46 grams – Methamphetamine
  • Drug paraphernalia

The 31-year-old accused was further charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused was held in custody and appeared in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) Court on May 25, 2024.
