KAWARTHA LAKES-The Kawartha Lakes Police Service was called to investigate the theft of copper from a construction site in Lindsay on Tuesday, January 9.

Police say later the same day information was received that copper was being loaded into a taxi.  Further investigation revealed that the stolen copper was being taken to a local scrap yard according to police.

As a result, two 41-year-old Lindsay residents were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. The stolen property was recovered at the scene. Charges are pending against a third male who was not arrested at the scene.

The accused are both scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at 440 Kent St W in Lindsay on February 22, 2023.
