Winter Weather Travel Advisory In Effect For Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Winter weather travel advisory is in effect for our area.

Local snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm with snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour at times. Officials say there could be poor visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow from later tonight until late Tuesday morning.

A band of lake-effect snow is expected to move southward through the area late tonight into Tuesday morning. Strong winds may accompany these snow squalls resulting in significantly reduced visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
