Peterborough Police Investigate Fatal Daytime Shooting

PETERBOROUGH-The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after one person was shot and killed on Park Street on Saturday afternoon.

At the time police said it was not considered an active shooter situation.  One person was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and succumbed to their injuries.
Sgt. Jeff Chartier says there will be an increased police presence in the area of Park Street and Sherbrooke Street as the investigation continues.
“Peterborough police understands that safety is a concern in our community,” said Chartier.
