UPDATE:FOUND-OPP ROPE Squad Looking For Repeat Offender Known To Frequent Durham Area

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as a result of his breach of Long-Term Supervision Order.

Police say Derek Powell is described as a male caucasian, 53 years of age, 5’8 (173cm), 260 lbs (118kgs) with brown hair and green eyes.

He is currently on a Long Term Supervision Order after serving a Seven year, Six-month sentence for Assault with a Weapon, Utter threats to Cause Death/Harm X2, Forcible Confinement X2, Assault Peace Officer X2, Mischief in Relation to Property and Fail to Comply With Probation Order, X4.

The offender is known to frequent the Brantford, Cambridge, Whitby, and Oshawa Areas according to police.
