Trent Lakes Woman Charged With Impaired Driving After ATV Crash

PETERBOROUGH-Members of the Peterborough County OPPĀ responded to an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) collision at approximately 1:45am this morning.

Police say the collision occurred in the parking lot of a business on Lakehurst Road. The driver suffered minor injuries and was found to be under the influence of alcohol according to police.Ā The ATV was the only vehicle involved in the collision.

39-year-old Jessica Staples of the Municipality of Trent Lakes, was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and ATV impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on June 23, 2022.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
