Winter Weather Travel Advisory Issued For Parts Of Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Winter Weather Travel Advisory for our area.

Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for this evening due to the possibility of 4 to 8 cm of snow early this evening through early Tuesday morning.

The onset of precipitation will likely begin as rain before changing over to snow. Above freezing temperatures and areas along the lakeshore may limit snowfall accumulations, especially on surfaces such as roads and sidewalks. Locally higher snowfall accumulations may occur over areas of higher terrain including the Oak Ridges Moraine where temperatures will be slightly cooler.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
