Almost 10,000 People Without Power From Lakefield To McDonalds Corners

KAWARTHA LAKES-Thousands of area residents awoke to no power this morning.

The Hydro One outage maps showed at one point almost 10,000 people had no hydro starting at approximately 5:30am. According to the outage map a motor vehicle accident near Norwood was at least partially to blame. Hydro was out in parts of Lakefield, Apsley, Bridgenorth, Curve lake, Nogies Creek and east to McDonalds Corners which is near Carleton Place.

Much of the homes had hydro restored by approximately 9:15 with a few exceptions. One area near Woodview reportedly wont be restored until April 29th, 2022. We have contacted Hydro One for more information but have not heard back.
