Special Weather Statement Issued Warning Of Freezing Rain For Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statment warning of freezing rain for Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Apsley – Woodview – Northern Peterborough County
  • Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes
  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Freezing rain and rain is expected with ice accretion is possible due to freezing rain.
Periods of heavy rain. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Patchy freezing rain or rain is expected to begin tonight and persist into Tuesday. Freezing rain is expected to transition to rain during the day, however, there remains uncertainty as to exactly when the transition will occur.

Rain is expected to come to an end Tuesday night.
