UPDATE:One Person Pronounced Deceased As Crews Battle House Fire In Cameron

KAWARTHA LAKES-One person was trapped in a house fire on Country Lane in Cameron this morning and has been pronounced deceased.

Police say at approximately 7:45 a.m. City of Kawartha Lakes OPP, Fire and EMS were called to a structure fire on Country Lane in Fenelon Township. Two residents escaped without injury. One person was located inside the residence and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Michael McMillian, 39 years of age, of Fenelon.

Five halls were called to battle the blaze on the second floor of the home with flames shooting from the windows when crews arrived. District Chief Dave Kish says no cause has been determined.

The OPP remains on scene as the investigation continues with the assistance of the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
