Buckhorn Resident Facing Charges After Reports Of A “Suspicious Vehicle”

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 36-year-old Buckhorn man is facing charges after an incident in Peterborough Thursday evening.

At approximately 6:45pm on February 10, 2022, officers were called to a parking lot in the Clonsilla Avenue and Sherbrooke Street area on reports of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, the officers say they found two people outside the vehicle.  Through investigation it was learned that both people were wanted on warrants including one in another jurisdiction according to police.

As a result, a 36-year-old Buckhorn man was arrested on the strength of the warrant. During the arrest officers located an amount of fentanyl and the accused was further charged with possession of a schedule I substance.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to be in court March 2, 2022.

The other person involved was returned to their jurisdiction.

In keeping with the new media policy at Peterborough Police, no names were released.
