Early Morning Traffic Stop On Highway 115 Results In Multiple Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-Peterborough County OPP officers stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act offence on Highway 115 at approximately 2:00am this morning. The driver was found to be under the influence of drugs and suspended from driving.

34-year-old Joseph Rassi of Maple, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-cocaine

• Driving while under suspension

• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

• Speeding

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on March 17, 2022.
