Freezing Rain Warning And Snow Squall Watch Issued For Southern Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha lakes is under a Freezing Rain Warning and a Snow Squall Watch.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Periods of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle expected tonight into early Sunday morning.

Periods of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle will move into the area tonight. Temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing mark early Sunday morning ending the risk of freezing rain.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.


Snow squall watch in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Snow squalls are expected to develop Sunday evening.

Lake effect snow off of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay with snowfall rates of 10 cm over 12 hours possible. Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Snow-covered and icy roads.
