Municipal Services And Hours Of Operation Over The 2021 Holiday Break

KAWARTHA LAKES-Here are the municipal services and hours of operation for the City of Kawartha Lakes over the holiday break (December 24 to January 4):

Municipal Administration
Please note all municipal administration offices will close at 12pm on December 24, 2021 and re-open at 8:30am on January 4, 2022. This includes:

  • City Hall
  • Municipal Services Centres
  • Public Works administration
  • Parks, Recreation and Culture administration
  • Fire and Rescue administration
  • Paramedic Service administration
  • Provincial Offences Office

Municipal Waste Services
All landfills will be closed on December 25, December 26 and January 1. The Lindsay Ops and Somerville Landfills will be open on December 24 and December 31 from 9am to 1pm.

Public Library
All Kawartha Lakes Public Library branches will be closed from December 25 to 28 and January 1 to 3. All branches that are normally open on a Friday will be open from 10am to 2pm on December 24 and December 31. Regular hours will resume on January 4.

Parks, Recreation and Culture
The Parks, Recreation and Culture Administration Office will close at 12pm on December 24. All arenas, pools and fitness centres will also close at 12pm on December 24 and will reopen on December 27. All arenas, pools and fitness centres will close at 12pm on December 31 and reopen on January 2.

Transit
There will be no Lindsay Transit or LIMO Specialized Transit service on December 25 and January 1. All regular hours will resume on January 2

Human Services
The Human Services offices will be closed at 12pm on December 24, reopening December 29 at 8:30am and closed at 12pm on December 31, reopening January 4.

Reporting an issue or concern
Should you wish to report an issue or concern over the holiday break, please continue to use our online Report It tool. Cases will still be received online and staff will respond once administration has re-opened. To report an After Hours Municipal Emergency, call 1-877-885-7337.
