KAWARTHA LAKES-A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Boys and Girls Club Kawarthas Before and After School Program in Lindsay.
Officials say there are two confirmed cases and they will remain at home until the Health Unit advises they may return to childcare.
The term ‘outbreak’ is used provincially by public health units when they believe there is evidencethat at least one person could have reasonably acquired their infection within the childcare facility/ location.
The childcare facility remains OPEN. HKPR will be providing short-term directions regarding further limiting student attendee and staff contacts and limiting non-essential visitors. Signs will be posted on school doors identifying the current outbreak status.
They continue to implement enhanced daily pandemic cleaning protocols, and regular disinfection of the childcare facility with the electro-static sprayer.
“At this time, the HKPR District Health Unit would like to remind members of our childcare community to limit contact with others and remain only in close contact with household members. Follow all public health guidelines including masking, social distancing, and frequent hand hygiene.” said an email from the company.
All students/ attendees and staff are asked to continue to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and complete the daily self-assessment at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/
