Long Lineups For COVID Booster Shots In Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-The lineup outside MacArthur Drugs in Fenelon Falls went to the end of the block and around the corner on Thursday.

Pharmacists at the store told Kawartha 411 they administered 120 vaccines between 11 am and 7:30 pm. Many others had to be turned away. MacArthur hopes to have more supply next week.

The same scene played out across the region. Remedy’s Rx on Kent Street in Lindsay says they are experiencing a high volume of calls related to the vaccine and have no appointments available until the New Year.

Shoppers Drug Mart at 343 Kent St W in Lindsay and Bolton Street in Bobcaygeon both have waiting lists. Click here for more:https://shoppersdrugmart.medmeapp.com/schedule

The Health Unit is no longer accepting walk-ins at any of its mass immunization clinics. Please book an appointment through the provincial booking system.

Medical masks must also be worn by clients getting vaccinated at Health Unit clinics. Please wear one if possible for your appointment. If you do not have one, a medical mask will be provided to you at the clinic. Ensure you wear the medical mask properly so it covers your nose, mouth and chin.
