Celebrate The Spirit Of The Season With “Christmas Lights Across Canada”

KAWARTHA LAKES-Tonight is the opening night for the 37th edition of “Christmas Lights Across Canada”.

Canadians will have a chance to experience the spectacular new multimedia projection on Parliament Hill during the opening night of Christmas Lights Across Canada and at provincial capitals across the country.

“Over the next month, thousands of lights will illuminate prominent sites and monuments in the National Capital region and in Canadian provincial capitals from coast to coast to coast – uniting loved ones through the spirit of the season, whether they are together or apart. This year, we will also broadcast IllumiNATION — A Celebration of the Winter Solstice. The television show will invite Canadians to discover cultural traditions, legends, and customs from around the country, featuring a variety of artistic presentations from across Canada. said Prime Minister Trudeau.

In the capitals across the country, Canadians can admire the thousands of lights that shine every evening between December 8, 2021, and January 7, 2022.

In Ottawa there is an entirely new multimedia projection show offered on Parliament Hill. The presentation combines colourful digital imagery with a captivating soundtrack.

Will it be possible to give light to winter this year? Come and see the multimedia projection for yourself and for a few moments, let the magic carry you away. Young and old will be filled with wonder as they set out on this extraordinary adventure.

Be charmed by the Pathway of lights. Thousands of dazzling lights brighten Confederation Boulevard, Canada’s ceremonial route that circles the heart of the Capital.

Follow this illuminated route between Ottawa and Gatineau and admire the sites and monuments along its way:

  • National War Memorial
  • Rideau Canal Park
  • Confederation Park
  • Elgin Street
  • Mackenzie Triangle
  • Reconciliation, The Peacekeeping Monument
  • Jacques-Cartier Park
  • Garden of Provinces and Territories
  • Portage Park
  • Supreme Court of Canada

You can use the Pathway of lights map as a guide.

Each capital and territory highlights its monuments and sites. This is the perfect opportunity to admire the festive lights in your own capital and celebrate this period of winter in Canada.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I invite everyone to join the Christmas Lights Across Canada festivities in person or watch IllumiNATION, on December 21 at 8 p.m. EST on the Canadian Heritage YouTube channel. ” said Trudeau.
