Peterborough County OPP Lay Numerous Impaired Driving Charges Over The Weekend

PETERBOROUGH-Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver in the village of Lakefield at approximately 10:00am on December 3, 2021. The vehicle was located and stopped on the Eighth Line.

Jason Utter (age 49) of Douro-Dummer Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Officers stopped a motor vehicle on Highway 7 at approximately 1:45pm on December 3, 2021. The driver was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.

David McCracken (age 60) of Cavan-Monaghan Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on January 12, 2022.

Police responded to a dispute in the village of Norwood on December 4, 2021 at approximately 11:00am. Officers located the suspects in a vehicle on Highway 7 and conducted a traffic stop. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was taken without the owner’s permission.

Christine Leach (age 42) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Take motor vehicle without consent

• Mischief

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on January 12, 2022.

Andrew MCARTHUR (age 41) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Fail to comply with Probation Order-two counts

• Mischief

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
