Special Weather Statement Issued For Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough warning of freezing rain.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Apsley – Woodview – Northern Peterborough County
  • Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes
  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Freezing rain is possible Sunday night.

Impacts:
Hazardous travel conditions are expected due to ice build-up.

A low pressure system will track east across the Great Lakes Sunday through Monday. Precipitation will begin as snow Sunday afternoon then will change to ice pellets or freezing rain Sunday evening before changing to rain by Monday morning. Freezing rain warnings may be issued as the event draws nearer.
