KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge (HKPR)District Health Unit has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at a licensed childcare facility in Lindsay.
There are two confirmed cases at My Tot Spot located at 159 Colborne Street West in Lindsay according to the health unit. The child care facility has made the decision to close for the time being.
“The outbreak has resulted in a number of high-risk contacts being identified. Letters from the Health Unit have been sent to all those identified as possible high-risk contacts. The letter included specific steps for vaccinated or unvaccinated individuals to follow for isolating, testing and other prevention measures. The Health Unit continues to work with affected individuals and the child care facility on the next steps they need to do.” Bill Eekhoff, Communications HKPR told Kawartha 411 news.
The health unit is reporting 13 new cases of COVID in the City of Kawartha Lakes today bringing the total of active cases to 26. There are 85 close contacts being monitored.
Since November 8th there’s been 36 new cases of COVID in the unvaccinated in the HKPR region, 39 new cases in the fully vaccinated and two new cases in partially vaccinated and not fully protected categories.
