Ops Township Woman Charged After Giving Police A False Name

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 23-year-old Ops Township woman is facing charges after reportedly giving police a fake name.

On October 30, 2021 at 9:32pm, Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a call at Lindsay Street South business, where two individuals were allegedly observed slumped over in a vehicle. Police said while speaking with the driver the officer determined the driver was impaired and placed her under arrest.

At the time of her arrest the accused identified herself as Kimberly LaPierre.

On November 3, the female involved attended the police service and reported that she had provided police with a false identity at the time of her arrest on October 30th and on one other occasion.

As a result, 23-year-old Krista LaPierre of Ops Twp has been charged with obstruct peace officer X2. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on December 9, 2021.
