Police Investigating Shooting On William Street In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-There is a heavy police presence on William Street North in Lindsay.

Kawartha Lakes Police responded to William Street North in Lindsay after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls for the sound of gunshots at approximately 11:30pm.  

Officers attended and searched the area, finding several bullet casings and obvious signs of injury. An extensive search of the area was conducted with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Canine Unit, the involved individuals were not located.

A gunshot victim has since been identified, located at a Toronto area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It is believed the individuals involved are known each other. There is no threat to public safety. 

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch has taken over the investigation, with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Unit.
