Impaired Driving Charges Laid After Vehicle Reportedly Hits Multiple Parked Cars

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 38-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges after a vehicle reportedly hit multiple parked cars.

Police say on Tuesday September 21, 2021 at 6:04am, City of Kawartha Lakes Police responded to King Street in Lindsay after a vehicle had reportedly struck multiple parked vehicles and fled the area. With the assistance of witness’s officers located the alleged vehicle parked on Queen Street. While speaking with the driver officers observed signs of impairment and placed him under arrest according to police.

38-year-old Colin Malette of Lindsay is charged with failure to stop after accident, operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, possession of a schedule I substance and one charge in contravention of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 28, 2021.
