Two Weekend Collisions Result In Impaired Driving Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES–Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP investigated two collisions over the weekend in which the drivers where charged with impaired.

On September 17, 2021 shortly after 7:00 p.m., on County Road 121, in Verulam Township, officers responded to a single motor vehicle roll over collision. Police say the investigation determined the driver to be impaired by alcohol.

Roberta Delville, 19 years of age, of Richmond Hill, has been charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration of (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on October 7, 2020. Their driver’s licence has also been suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as part of the offence.

On September 18, 2021 just after 12:30 a.m., on Elm Tree Road, in Fenelon Township, officers were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle in the ditch. Officers located the vehicle and further investigation revealed that the driver was allegedly impaired.

James Mousseau, 44 years of age, of Verulam Township, has been charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on October 7, 2020.
