KAWARTHA LAKES-A 37-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges after a vehicle was stolen in Lindsay.
Police say on September 8, 2021 at 2:30pm the Kawartha Lakes Police took a stolen vehicle report vehicle report. The vehicle was stolen sometime between September 7th and September 8th from a residence on Glenelg Street West in Lindsay. At the time of the report, it was suspected that a male known to the owner had taken the vehicle. The owner allegedly observed the suspect driving the vehicle later in the day and yelled for him to stop, however, he continued to drive away according to police.
Police received information that the vehicle was dropped off at a Russell Street West location. Officers attended that area, located the suspect and placed him under arrest. 37-year-old Shane Schell of Lindsay is charged with theft of motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime.
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West on October 14, 2021
