Fentanyl, Cocaine, Hydromorphone, Knives, Baton And Drug Paraphernalia Seized In Investigation Into Drug Trafficking Locally

KAWARTHA LAKES-An investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) resulted in three suspects being arrested and charged on July 29, 2021 with drug offences related to the trafficking of drugs in the Peterborough area.

Police say the accused were arrested after a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant was executed on a residence and a vehicle stop was conducted in the City of Peterborough.

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes/Haliburton CSCU, Central Region Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Peterborough County Detachment assisted with the warrant execution and arrests.

Officers seized 20 grams of green fentanyl, 155 grams of cocaine, 25 grams of crack cocaine, 99 hydromorphone pills, 226 clonazepam pills, cash, lottery tickets, spring-loaded knives, a collapsible baton and other drug paraphernalia during the investigation according to police.

Alannah ARDILA (age 31) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid- three counts

• Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking

• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

• Possession property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 24, 2021.

Cory Bulger (age 42) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid- three counts

• Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking

• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

• Possession property obtained by crime under $5000

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

• Unauthorized possession of weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 24, 2021.

Jeffrey CURNEW (age 40) of No Fixed Address was arrested and charges with:

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid- three counts

• Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking

• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

• Possession property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 24, 2021.
