One Person Taken Into Custody After Vehicle Goes Into The River In Lindsay

UPDATE: Impaired driving charge laid.

KAWARTHA LAKES-A female was taken into custody after a vehicle ended up in the Scugog River in Lindsay.

The City of Kawartha Lake Police were called to Water Street in Lindsay after a vehicle had reportedly reversed into the Scugog River on Monday night just before 10pm. Officers located the vehicle with its rear end submerged in the river. While speaking with the driver the investigating officer determined the driver was allegedly impaired and placed her under arrest.

49-year-old Michelle Cameron of Trent Lakes has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 2, 2021
