Hundreds Without Power As Strong Winds Blow Through The Area

KAWARTHA LAKES-Powerful winds blew through parts of the Kawarthas’ on Monday night knocking down trees and power lines.

More than 600 homes were without power North of Bobcaygeon, parts of Lindsay and areas in between. Estimated restoration is midnight according to Hydro One.

Near Dunsford high winds knocked down large tree branches. Chairs and patio furniture were tossed around. There were no reports of injuries.

The temperature dropped dramatically falling to 12 degrees at 11pm. Temps are expected to go down to 6 degrees overnight.
