KAWARTHA LAKES-The Coronavirus outbreak at Central East Correctional Centre (CECC) in Lindsay has grown to 21 cases.
That’s up from 12 cases that were reported earlier in the week. The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit says the cases are in the Kitchen and on Unit 5.
We have reached out to the Ministry of the Attorney General to find out what measures are being taken to contain the virus but have not had a response to that question.
There is an outbreak in the Offender Transport Unit of the OPP as well with five cases there. The outbreak at Dairy Queen in Lindsay continues. We have contacted the health unit to get an updated case count but have not heard back.
The 9 new cases at CECC are included in a total of 19 new cases of the virus reported in the City of Kawartha Lakes today. There are 59 active cases of the virus currently in the City. 56 people have lost their lives.
