Bancroft OPP Searching For Ajax Resident Missing On Mink Lake

UPDATE:The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) have recovered the body of an Ajax, Ontario resident from Mink Lake.

Members of the OPP USRU recovered the body of 68 year old Gordon BLAIR late in the afternoon on Wednesday May 19th.

The office for the Chief Coroner of Ontario is leading the investigation with the assistance from the Bancroft OPP. A post mortem exam has been scheduled. Foul play is not suspected.

KAWARTHA LAKES-The search continues today for a 68 year old resident of Ajax, Ontario who went missing on Mink Lake in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands.

Police say on May 16, 2021 shortly after 6:30 p.m. members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an unoccupied boat circling on Mink Lake.

The Bancroft OPP, OPP helicopter and Hastings Highlands Fire Department conducted a search of the area and the individual could not be located.

Members of the Bancroft OPP, OPP Underwater Search and Recover Team (USRT), OPP helicopter and an OPP Reconstructionist will join the search today.
