Police Say Rider Is Dead Following Motorcycle Crash On Saturday On Pigeon Lake Road

KAWARTHA LAKES-The OPP says a rider on a motorcycle involved in a crash we told you about on Saturday on Pigeon Lake Road, died at the scene.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. members from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a two vehicle collision on Pigeon Lake Road, near Old Surrey Lane.

Police say the initial investigation revealed that a southbound motorcycle collided with a northbound pickup in a head-on collision. The motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Pigeon Lake Road was closed for several hours while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented roadway evidence.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision. No names have been released.
