KAWARTHA LAKES-The Kawartha Lakes Police Service is asking the public to be on the lookout for a generator stolen from a construction site.
Police say on February 23rd at 6:04am the officers received a report of a theft from a construction site on Angeline Street North in Lindsay. Surveillance video at the location, revealed a black pick-up truck pull into the site at 5:13am, hook-up a trailer with a generator on it and leave. At 5:43am the same pick-up truck is seen on video returning to the site, hooking up and stealing a second generator according to police. The suspect vehicle was located later in the day by Durham Regional Police Service, with one of the generators in tow.
31-year-old David Vanderwerf of no fixed address, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of a schedule I substance and breach of undertaking and held for a bail hearing.
Police are seeking assistance in recovering an outstanding generator as pictured.
