Police Say Officer Assaulted While Investigating Family Dispute In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A City of Kawartha Lakes Police officer was reportedly kicked multiple times while investigating a family dispute in Lindsay.

Police say on February 14, 2021, at 12:42 pm the City of Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a family dispute at a residence in Lindsay. As a result of an investigation, an adult has been arrested and charged for assault and mischief to property. During the investigation, an officer was assaulted when the accused kicked him multiple times and threatened him according to police.

The accused has also been charged with assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats to cause bodily harm. The accused was held in custody and attended a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice. 

No name was released due to the domestic nature of the call.
