Highlands Propane In Fenelon Falls Sold To Superior Propane

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha 411 News has learned that the family-owned Highlands Propane in Fenelon Falls has been sold to Superior Propane.

Highlands Propane was founded in 1991 by Shawn Bellwood and was a small seasonal business serving local trailer parks. It expanded in 1992 to include residential and larger commercial propane accounts. Over the years the service area continued to grow and so did the size of the staff. It’s believed they were one of the only independently owned propane facilities left in the City of Kawartha Lakes. They had recently moved to a new location at 54 Colborne St. in Fenelon Falls.

Jim Bellwood confirmed the news to Kawartha 411 saying the Belwood family would continue to be involved.

Superior Propane’s President, Greg McCamus told Kawartha 411 News they took ownership on February 11th and will be updating customers throughout the coming months.

“We want to welcome all the great customers and employees from Highlands Propane to the Superior Propane family. It’s business as usual. Our local teams living in and around the community are committed to providing the same great level of service with no interruption in deliveries. We look forward to providing Highlands Propane customers new services such as Superior’s SMART* Tank™ wireless monitoring system and our exclusive mySUPERIOR™ mobile app”. McCamus said.

Superior Propane is headquartered in Mississauga and has been in business for more than 65 years. They claim to have the largest distribution network to serve homes and businesses virtually anywhere in the country with 1,500 employees.
