Coronavirus Outbreak At Caressant Care Nursing Home On Mary Street In Lindsay Declared Over

KAWARTHA LAKES-Some good news in the fight against Coronavirus at a Lindsay nursing home.

The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District health Unit first declared an outbreak at Caressant Care Nursing Home on Mary Street West in Lindsay on January 23 after one staff member tested positive. On the retirement side of the Mary Street home there were two positive staff cases according to officials at the home.

The outbreak was declared over today.

“We have been advised by Public Health that the outbreak at Caressant Care Lindsay Nursing Home (Mary Street) is over.” Stuart Oakley, Communications, Caressant Care told Kawartha 411 News.

All residents on the Long Term Care side of the home are scheduled for vaccination on Friday.

Meanwhile there were no new cases today in the outbreak at Caressant Care on McLaughlin Road in Lindsay.

Residents at Caressant Care on McLaughlin Road will be vaccinated next week according to officials. As Kawartha 411 News first reported on January 9th the health unit declared an outbreak at the McLaughlin Road facility with one positive case. As Of Monday there was 44 cases at the facility with 21 residents and 23 staff infected. On Tuesday the home is reporting a total of 22 positive residents and 19 positive staff. Three residents have died.

There was one new case of Coronavirus reported in Kawartha Lakes today.
