Winter Weather Travel Advisory Issued For Southern Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-A winter weather travel advisory has been issued for Southern Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough.

Officials say a band of very heavy snowfall will cross the region early this afternoon giving very poor visibility. A quick 3 to 5 cm within and hour or so is possible as this band passes through. Light snow is expected thereafter.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to very poor visibility and rapidly accumulating snow on roadways as the band passes. Travel along Highway 401 will be hazardous.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
