The cases are all in students according to the province. In an email to parents after our story was published tonight the school says these are considered community-based transmission and not school-based transmission.

“The individuals were identified as positive during the school shutdown period and have not been in the school building. “The public health unit will communicate with any individuals considered close or at risk contacts.” said a statement from the school.

However one parent, took to social media Tuesday night saying at least two of the students were in the school on Monday.

Another parent names Stefan Mailey, contacted Kawartha 411 News on Wednesday morning to say his son had tested positive and was in school at LCVI on Tuesday after getting the green light from the health unit.

When pressed on the issue here’s what the school board had to say.

“For this case you are referring too, it might be possible that the student tested positive for COVID-19 during the remote learning period, isolated for 10 days on the direction from the local public health unit and received permission from them to return to school.”

Rolling Hills Public School in Bethany also has one case in a student.

The cases were all reported Tuesday.

This story has been updated with statements from the school, school board and parents.
